The Final Stretch of 2020

Life’s been pretty chaotic this year. With everything going on, I found one of my old journals about finding 5 magical things to appreciate. The journal reminded me of this blog.

Since my last post, I found a new job. There’s a photography darkroom in my basement now. Next to the darkroom is my treasure trove of Cast Iron. Like a lot of other people, I have a sourdough starter now, and I tried making candles for a while.

When I look out at what’s happening it the world, it’s hard not to be depressed. When I focus on my life, there’s so many magical moments happening. Most of my family moved to the state I’m in before the Coronavirus. At first, I was weary, but here and now, I’m relieved to have a support group.

I bought a scanner, so I’ll share some of the darkroom projects soon. Finding my journal reminded me of how much I enjoyed photography and writing. In this moment, I’m finding it hard to produce words. Once I get the words flowing, I plan on writing more focused posts.

Right now, I want to say I’m here, I’m back, and I’m searching for my magical moments.

My top 5 highlights were

  1. A trip to Iowa that was more enjoyable than I thought.
  2. I got a new nephew.
  3. Cooking with Cast Iron with my dad.
  4. Starting writing again.
  5. Receiving some more old school film cameras for the darkroom.
